The hotel system Horec is an extensive and complex information system for automatization of activities for hotels and housing facilities. It represents the most sophisticated IS in the area of tourism on the Slovak market.
Horec manages the basic activities of orders, accommodation of guests, using of services, accounting and recording of guest departures, retail sale, room reservations, balancing of the cash accounts, various statistics and overviews. The solution enables connection of multitude of other systems used in hotel practice (on-line reservation, restaurant systems, exchange, telephone exchanges, card systems, PAY-TV, heating adjustment, etc.).
Horec is built on three-level architecture with use of database system ORACLE. By its structure client-server-database it enables internet access to the system from anywhere in the world.

It is designed especially for accommodation facilities of the hotel type, that have continuous reception, and that provide services in the area of accommodation and services connected with accommodation. According to its size all types of accommodation facilities use this system, from small boarding houses with 5 rooms to big hotel complexes.
Horec meets the requirements for operation of the following facilities: hotels, boarding houses, recreation facilities, hostels, spas, wellness centres, motels, botels, cruising ships.
Since its launch on the market in 1992, at the time as DOS application, Horec registered great success in number of installations. In 2003 a Windows version was launched, that has hundreds of installations all over Slovakia.
